Hi friends ,
I was shortlisted for an interview for JRF post to work under the Project which is sponsored by DBT .Its a collaborated project between NIN , Hyderabad and another University ( Let it b confidential). I went there by train from hyd and it got almost one and half hr late .Anyways i managed to get there with help of my uncle by 9.15.After reaching there i thought "its really better to be late".becoz i had waited almost 2 hrs for my turn ( Dont think there are too many candidates It was just me and another 4 candidates.Mean while they checked all our certificates and i didnt get what they r still waiting for) Among others two of them were GATE qualified like me and other one was CSIR qualified.( i know.. i know.. that's why i lost my hope then and there. hmm).
Then the interview started when Our Project principle investigator (madam) had arrived.( ohh She is really pretty cute..)
Actually there are 3 professors ( dont wanna reveal their names) other than madam, who had interviewed us.They asked me the questions such as:
- Introduce my self.
- tell them what do I know about this project
- What practicals did i perform in M.Sc
- and their Principles ( yaa its difficult to remember soooo suddenly isn't it)
Any way i was able to answer them about 80 % of the que they asked me and the worst part is that they asked me about enzymology which i am truly weak at. ( i suggest u plz never ever mention enzymology when they ask what u had done unless u are a pandit in that thing)
Yes i was almost selected . but not for the post what i had applied for , but for project assistant post which will have a stipend of Rs 8000 and for jrf its about 16000 + HRA . ( oh holy crap...).
well they said that they will confirm through e mail.I think that csir fellow might get the jrf post.
All i want to say is have a tight grip on basics, project related back ground study, and its connected practical principles.
For example, the project here is " Dietary Phytate - its mineral interactions and its role in suppressing colon cancer"
ur back ground study must be focused on the following ( really i dont wanna get u feel bored guys , that's y i will wrap up with the outline)
- what's phytate . like its source , structure
- its Negative and Positive aspects.
- A decent study on colon cancer and what's the role of phytate on cancer cells.
- what's the desirability to do the project ...like to handle animals
- techniques used -- like blottings, basic estimations etc .
Finally the moral is that " 50% ur luck - 50% ur schmuck + 50 % ur chamak + 50 % ur tweak = 100 % job
All the Best....
